My Latest Christmas Card Challenge

I finished another challenge for the forum that I started. This last week's challenge was actually continued from the week before because we needed more time for it. I LOVE the way it turned out... I used GLOW-IN-THE-DARK sparkly glue on it! Check it out!

This is the inspiration photo....

This is the card I made....

More Christmas cards for the Card Challenge

I made some more cards for the Christmas card challenge! The first challenge was to make a bookmark and card, or a bookmark that could be used as a tag. I decided to do the card and bookmark and this is what I made:

The next challenge was to use foil somewhere in the card. I LOVE the way these came out! I ended up making two of them (a little different) because I liked them so much. This is what I came up with:

If you want more details on how I make them and what I used, please click on the title link below each picture and it will take you to my gallery at scrapbook.com and I have written a more detailed description of each card there. Have a great week!

Christmas Card Challenge - Update!

I have still been making cards for the card challenge that I started over at (http://www.scrapbook.com/forums/showtopic.php?fid/95/tid/1579321/pid/15518857/post/last/#LAST)

My latest card was for the "use only scraps" challenge and I came up with two cards (very similar ones) using only my scraps!

The previous week was the "photo inspiration" challenge, which used the following picture for the inspiration:

so I used the colors and the fireplace as inspiration and came up with this card:

The week before that (has it really been 3 weeks since I've updated this?!?! Man the time flies!) the challenge was "use a stamp AND a die cut" and this is the card that I made for it:

I also made this card just for fun:

If you would like to know how I made any of these, or what supplies I used, please  comment on here and ask me or click on the link under the pictures to see the description that I typed for my gallery over at scrapbook.com. I tried to describe that stuff in a little detail over there, but if that doesn't answer your question I would be more than happy to answer them for you!

Thanks for looking!

New cards for the Christmas Card Challenge!

I made a card for the "use wrapping paper challenge" (http://www.scrapbook.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/1579321/tp/1/) and I was pretty happy with how it turned out. I was able to use a feature on my cricut machine that I hadn't ever used before. The "center point" function. I love it! I was able to pick the part of the design that I wanted to be on the snowflake, hit the center point button and voila! It cut the snowflake around that point!

I also just finished another challenge (one every week at http://www.scrapbook.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/1579321/tp/1/) which was "use a Christmas tree". I just got a new Darice embossing folder of a Christmas tree that I LOVE. I liked it so much I couldn't stop making cards with it! What do you think? Which version is your favorite? I'd love to know!

New Challenge/Idea Swap!

I have started a new challenge in the forums on scrapbook.com... for those of you who are interested in joining here is the link: http://www.scrapbook.com/forums/showtopic.php?fid/95/tid/1579321/pid/15518857/post/last/#LAST

This is a virtual swap of Christmas card ideas. I am trying to make a variety of Christmas cards to send out his year but I am having a hard time with inspiration. So, I am looking for ideas to scraplift! I seem to better with challenges to tell me where to start, like giving a specific color, or design element, or layout to use. The basic idea is that anyone who wants to join in the challenges is able to. All we are going to be doing is posting the challenge (stating the color, design element, layout, etc) on Sundays and then giving us a week or two (TBD) to make a card for that challenge and post a picture or a link to a picture. That is it! If you don't want to participate one week, or don't have time, don't worry, there is no commitment requirement!

I have also just joined the new Cut It Up Challenge Blog! This challenge will be starting Sept. 7th, 2012 and will have a new challenge every other Friday. The challenges will all be to use some sort of die cut and possibly some other element.

Can't wait to start and see everyone else's cards!

Christmas in July!

I ave been making some Christmas cards lately because I wanted to get a head start on them this year and hopefully get them sent out in time! The first one shown below with the snowflakes on it, I made for a challenge on Cardz TV at http://cardztv.blogspot.com/2012/07/christmas-in-july-challenge-and-another.html. I LOVE the way it turned out! It was so much fun to make! The other card I made using some old wallpaper that I got from a thrift store for 2 bucks. I stamped an image on it an colored it with colored pencils. I think it turned out pretty cute! Take a look at what I have done and please let me know what you think... I love feedback!

Thanks!
